There are days on the Laguna de Santa Rosa when all a person will see are birds.  Like today.  Beside a couple of  hunters, an angry bee and some admittedly goofy looking holstein cattle, it was a bird paradise.

I was able to make quite a few decent images.  The content in a few of the photographs below are firsts for me.  I’ve never photographed a hawk hunting before, amazingly the bird never even flinched as it flew past me barely 15 yards away.  Either I look like a tree (I’ve been called that a few times) or the hawk, which hangs out with it’s mate in the area south of Occidental Road, has adapted to the big guy with a white lens.

All this on the last day of fall 2013 and 65 beautiful degrees.
