Just when you thought it was winter….Summer is back for an encore, as are the offshore winds and  low relative humidity.

Not surprising, since California is on the threshold of one of the driest calendar years on record.  This means that a red flag fire warning is effect for the hills around Sonoma County this evening (East Bay hills too), where  (in the Geysers) the RH is 13% with winds straight out of the NNE gusting to 21mph and the temperature is a balmy 64.  Even in Santa Rosa, the temperature is 64 with light offshore winds.

The warning is through tonight in to Sunday morning.  I’ve lived in Sonoma County for 26 years, and can not remember red flags in December.

Stay tuned.
