The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for hot temperatures, low relative humidity and gusty NE offshore winds above 1,000 feet starting 6pm Monday lasting through 8am Wednesday morning.  Remember, a watch suggests that critical weather conditions are possible.

If October holds true to form,  Red Flag Warnings could very well be posted in the next 12-24 hours.

The strongest winds appear to be forecast over the Sonoma and Napa mountains.  Marin and the East Bay hills are also included in the watch box.

In Santa Rosa, the winds this afternoon are gusting to 16mph from the west while sustained winds of 9mph are from the NW and veering offshore. The RH is at 31% with a temperature of 88.

Expect the low temperatures in the mountains to be in the mid 70’s overnight.   Stay tuned.

Needless to say, careful is the word.

Stay tuned.
