1/11/2001: A rainbow appears over Highway 12 east of Sebastopol during a break in the rain Wednesday afternoon.
1/15/2001: Rich Gannon, the 35-year-old quarterback who transformed his image this year from journeyman to Pro-Bowler, had his poorest game of the season. He was sacked four times, threw two interceptions and was forced from the game with a separated shoulder.

7/15/2001: The calming silence of Santa Rosa Creek near Farmers Lane in Santa Rosa greets Paul Diese, 38, and his son Michael, 8, as they wash up before a breakfast of applesauce, noodles and potato chips. Diese recently set up camp along the creek with his girlfriend, two kids and family dog.
