I went back in my files the other day looking for a vineyard picture I photographed on Cavedale Road near Sonoma in early March. As I was searching through the take, I came across this photo that shows a possible funnel cloud or a spin-up. We do get funnel clouds/tornadoes here in SoCo and have photographed three that were confirmed as such in the past twenty years. My source at the National Weather Service can’t say for sure, but I remember rotation in the cloud, hail shortly before it appeared and it was in the right place for a funnel to form.
