It was my turn to work this past Sunday.  When you’re the only photog working on Sunday, it can get hairy.  After a day of driving nearly 150 miles around Sonoma County, my last assignment was to shoot Sebastopol’s Earth Day Celebration.  I always expect something a little different in Sebastopol.

West County folks really do march to the beat of a different drummer; it’s what makes Sonoma County such a great place to shoot pictures.  Every community has a different personality.

I was worn out, but perked up soon enough when the dedication of their peace pole took place.  It was west county to the hilt, complete with Kate Wolf shirts mixed with drums, guitars and free flowing expressionism.  Good pictures were everywhere.  I even found myself singing along with “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog.”

The event was a mellow, high energy affair.  One gentleman, busy dancing, said  “Hey, it’s who we are!”

Yup, for sure!
