So that’s that. Two weeks of hype bottled in to one four hour football game. Interesting to be sure, it was mayhem in the second half, Beyonce performing, a power outage, and a furious Forty Niner comeback. Super Bowls are almost always surreal and Sunday night was a special edition for die-hard football fans. After the power went out, the Superdome felt like one of those southern summer nights, it was humid and quite warm. The AC didn’t filter down to the field until the last few minutes of the game but by then it didn’t matter people on the field were sweating profusely. At about three this morning after all the photo galleries were built and the editing was complete I’ve never fallen in to a more comfortable hotel bed.
I get the pyrotechnics before the game and halftime, but a Spare the Air day would have been declared in the stadium because of it. I have never figured out why it’s done in a dome.
So here’s to football in the Bay Area being over. Now we can get on to baseball. Pitchers and catchers report on February 11!
