The Harvest Moon. Yes, it appeared on Wednesday.  Yes, I made many photographs of the celestial event.

There were subtle differences between this years Harvest Moon weather and last years when I captured the moon rising over the Trione Barn on Slusser Road near the airport.  Last year it was fairly cool and the vineyards were already turning.  The sky had overcast hues to it making the exposure pretty even.  This year, it was much warmer, and the vines haven’t begun to really turn yet.

This year I picked a vantage point that I knew would make scene setting photographs and would provide an opportunity to make multiple photos of different scenes.  The photos below fit in to the Laguna theme of the post, the others will publish on a different date.

Of course I had to add a bird photo, because, well,  birds are everywhere around the Laguna de Santa Rosa.  I was really hoping the geese would get enough elevation to fly in the frame of the full moon.  I’m lucky, but not that lucky.
