At 7:20 this morning the temperature was 23 degrees in Santa Rosa. In our eastern mountains it’s 30 at the Geysers, 31 on the Hopland Grade and 30 on Mount Konocti. If you really want some frozen readings, one needs to travel to the Mendocino National Forest. Above Upper Lake, on High Glade lookout it’s 20 degrees. Stonyford is at 18, Soda Creek near Lake Pillsbury is a bone chilling 13 degrees.

I will put this in perspective. Low temperatures around the country this morning…

Cut Bank, Montana: -31 degrees
Lewiston, Montana: -24 degrees
Grand Forks, ND: -11 degrees
Thief River Falls, MN: -9 degrees
Sun Valley, ID: -10 degrees

Truckee:             -11 degrees

Aren’t you glad you live in Sonoma County?

To be fair though;

Miami is 83 degrees
McAllen, Texas is 69
and New Orleans is 72

Perspective.
