We’re lucky down here in the flats. Even though the last few days have been rather toasty, it cools off nicely at night. Not so for those that live in the hills. The low at the Geysers this morning was 81 degrees with a relative humidity of 15%. In fact, most of the Remote Automated Weather Stations (RAWS) aligned with the higher elevations were in the Mid 70’s overnight. This is quite commonly called a Thermal Belt.
Seems a little tight to me.
The Geographic Area Coordination Center has put the greater Bay Area in to a heat risk for fires today and Tuesday. Even though there are no red flag warnings, it’s still mighty dry out there folks, Bodega residents don’t need to be reminded of that after Saturday’s destructive fire.
